Outcasts United tells the story of the Fugees, a refugee soccer team, their coach, and the small town of Clarkston, Georgia, which became a refugee settlement center in the 1990s.

The bestseller was written by Warren St. John, a reporter for the New York Times, who also wrote Rammer Jammer Yellow Hammer: a Journey into the Heart of Fan Mania (2004).
